After 12 weeks of training, the spring/summer Pediatric Therapeutics Running Group, Super Flash, will be running a 5K sponsored by NJ Trail Series on Aug 6.
Therapists Miriam Cohen, PT, DPT, PCS and Carrie Beiter,OTR/L, founders and leaders of the group and avid runners themselves, train participants in weekly group work-outs with recommended physical activities for their parents to carry out at home. In addition to developing fitness and endurance, the group aims to instill a love of exercise and an interest in participation in physical activities, while building confidence and group social skills. Each season leads up to a race. Five runners, ages 7-10, are participating.
