Alissa Pacheco, MOT, OTR/L

AlissaPachecoHeadshotAlissa Pacheco is a Licensed and Board Certified Occupational Therapist and holds a certification in the Yoga for the Special Child method. Her focus is on providing holistic therapy services that meet the true individual needs of her clients. She has received specialized trainings in the treatment of post-concussion syndrome and neurological conditions, and works with individuals who have visual, vestibular, proprioceptive, sensory integration, and movement related impairments.

Alissa works with individuals across the life span and has worked in a variety of acute care, inpatient, and outpatient settings, including both Children’s Specialized Hospital and Atlantic Health System. She also enjoys teaching therapeutic yoga to children and adults of all abilities. Alissa attended Quinnipiac University for her undergraduate bachelor’s degree in health science in 2009 and continued on for her master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2011. She is currently pursuing her Doctoral degree in Education and Movement Science, with a focus on Motor Learning, at Teachers College, Columbia University.

As a competitive gymnast for over fifteen years, a ballroom dancer, and yogi, movement has always been part of Alissa’s life. She is continuously inspired by people’s ability to learn and heal through movement, and finds herself incorporating this theory into both her current research and practice. Alissa lives with her husband, and very active puppy, in Morristown, NJ.
