Along with raising three children, one of whom has significant learning differences and Anxiety, Julie has gained experience from working in a variety of facilities and with a variety of programs. Julie has developed original innovative therapeutic aquatic programs (“Hey Look I’m Swimming” and “Jump Right In” and gym programs (“Fitness Friends and Fun”) for special needs children and their families. She has also taught her original pre-writing and pre-scissor skills program “Pre-Snip and Scribble Scrabble” to typical and non-typical pre-school and Kindergarten children at a variety of nursery schools. Most recently, Julie worked at a non-profit organization with families and their children of all capabilities–typically developing children and those with neurological and physical disabilities–to reach their greatest potential. Additionally, she has vast experience working in a variety of environments including: home environment with Early Intervention, Cerebral Palsy/Developmental Disability Schools, school districts, and hospitals with medically fragile children.

During this time, Julie and her husband founded Team Dream through which they have helped to train a group of friends and community members to complete half-marathons and marathons to raise money for Diabetes research. Julie also trained a group of four young special needs women and their mothers to complete in a 5K while working on social skills, working memory, and improving overall fitness level and self-esteem. After leaving Pediatric Therapeutics in 2011 for family commitments and gaining continued experience from a variety of work sites, Julie is excited to return once again to work alongside these dynamic and knowledgeable therapists.
